As many of you know, the SXSW Film Festival is this weekend, and with that brings news snippets and interviews from filmmakers all across the country.
One short video that I recently came across was from Robert Rodriguez, courtesy of Samsung. I remember years ago reading his book, "Rebel Without a Crew", and instantly gaining a huge respect and interest for the director; he did everything I always wished I could do - he went out and actually made his movie. Plus the guy genuinely loves making movies and talking about the creative process. And how can you not get behind a guy with such a passion?
Anyway, in the below video, Rodriguez offers up a few details on a few of his upcoming projects. For the first part of the video he spends a good amount of time talking about a TV network he's developing, but after, he gives a few details on upcoming projects like "Machete Kills" and "Sin City 2".
So anyway, not a ton of pertinent info there, but it's always fun to listen to a good filmmaker just speak on the subject. We also can pick up from the clip that it doesn't appear he'll have any involvement in another "Predators" film, but I can't really blame him - if I had my own stuff I could do, I'd probably prefer working on that too.
I'm sure we'll come across plenty more from this festival through the weekend, so check back for more updates, and hopefully more news on some cool films we can look forward to!
