Bill Paxton has begun negotiations for a role in “All You Need Is Kill”. Variety is reporting that he would play the commander to Tom Cruise, who is playing the lead role in the film. This would surprisingly be the first time the two have ever worked together in a film, despite both actors' 30+ years in the business. I guess better late than never; it will be great to finally see these two work together.
The sci-fi/action film is being directed by Doug Liman and is based off of a Japanese graphic novel written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The novel is about a soldier who dies over and over again while battling against aliens. The premise of the film sounds a lot like "Source Code" (which I loved), just with a bigger scale. The cast will also feature Emily Blunt and Charlotte Riley.

"All You Need Is Kill" currently has a 2013 release date, but nothing more specific than that has yet been set.

“There's one thing worse than dying. It's coming back to do it again and again... When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to find himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the B*tch of War. Is the B*tch the key to Keiji's escape, or to his final death?”Paxton can next be seen in the action film “2 Guns” alongside Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, and James Marsden.
